Fishing: a popular water sport
Are you curious about everything that goes on underwater and do you find complete relaxation at the water's edge while enjoying the sunshine? De Schatberg shares the passion for angling with you and therefore has several lakes where you can hunt for your dream catch. On our park, you can fish on more than 20 hectares of water!
Catch of the day
A combination of knowledge and luck will determine what your trophy will look like, because after all, the catch is the trophy. Oh yes! Don't forget to capture this beautiful moment! After all, you might just end up with a Perch, Bream, Coalfish, Carp, Catfish or Eel in your photo.
Fishing competitions
Take part in one of the competitions organised in the high season. For both adults and children, fishing competitions are organised by our own fishing club in July and August.
When these competitions take place will be announced in the entertainment programme.
Fishing licence and regulations
To cast your rod in one of our ponds, you must have a Schatberg fishing licence. These are available at our reception desk. Fishing without a licence can be fined.
In the fishing regulations you can read how we deal with fishing at De Schatberg, which rules you have to comply with and when you are allowed to fish at night.
Rates
A fishing licence is only available when you stay overnight at De Schatberg.
